YARD WASTE AND BRUSH
PICKUP
The City of Markesan
Public Works Department will pickup brush and branches generated from
routine yard maintenance on the 3rd Monday of each month,
April through October. THIS SERVICE IS NOT INTENDED FOR TREE REMOVAL OR
LOT CLEARING. All yard waste must be at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the
scheduled dates, tied in bundles no longer than 6 feet in length and of
a weight easily handled by one person. This service is provided for
City of Markesan property owners only.

Leaves and brush shall not be deposited on the street or in the
gutters
n
Branches shall not exceed 3 inches in diameter or 6 feet in
length
n
No tree stumps or tree root systems will be collected
n
This service in not intended for tree removal or lot clearing
LEAF DISPOSAL Leaf
pick is scheduled for Monday, October 22, 2007 and Monday, November 5,
2007. Beginning this year, all leaves for pick-up should be raked to the
terrace (area between the sidewalk and the road) by 7:00 a.m. each
collection day. Leaves cannot be raked in the street. NO BAGGED LEAVES
WILL BE ACCEPTED! If you have both leaves and brush to be collected,
please put them in separate piles. Leaves may also be taken to the
Recycling Center, located on Highway A, east the City, which is open
every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. |
