Swimming Pool Requirements

Definition:
A container either
temporarily or permanently constructed upon or within the ground so
designed as to contain water which is used primarily for swimming.
Regulations:
A Building Permit is
required for all swimming pools. Swimming pools shall be considered an
accessory use and must observe all side yard and rear yard setbacks as
required by Ordinance.
All ground level
swimming pools with sides less than 5 feet high shall have a fence
surrounding the pool at least 5 feet in height with a latched gate
attached thereto of sufficient strength to prevent entrance by small
children.
All raised swimming
pools with sides at least 5 feet high shall have a fence with a latched
gate surrounding the steps thereto at least 5 feet in height of
sufficient strength to prevent entrance by small children.
No pool shall have water
put in it until all required fences have been installed.
Any person who does not
comply with any swimming pool regulation shall be subject to a
forfeiture of $10 per day for each day of violation.
