Snow Removal

Section 8.16 of the Markesan Municipal Code provides that: “The owner or lessee or every lot or parcel of land in the City abutting upon a sidewalk shall clear such sidewalk, including crosswalk, of all snow or ice within 24 hours after the end of the snowfall or icing condition.

It further states that is snow or ice is not removed within 24 hours after the end of the snowfall or icing condition, the City will remove the snow or ice and bill the home owner or lessee for the removal.  If said charges are not paid within 30 days,  the charge will be placed on the tax roll.

No person shall deposit snow from any driveway or property situated inside the lot lines on the roadway of any public street.
