Noxious weeds include,
but are not limited to, weeds and plants known as thistles, dandelion,
leafy spurge, creeping jenny, pigweed, quack grass, and all other forms
of weeds, grasses and plants over 12 inches in height which are useless
and without special beauty so as to distract from the surrounding area
and properties, or could become a possible fire or health hazard, or
become a potential hazard to vehicular traffic in vision clearance
triangles. The term “noxious weeds” does not apply to crops, vegetables
or ornamental and decorative plantings.
The owner(s) of any lot,
parcel or area within the City of Markesan is responsible for destroying
any noxious weed on their property. If a property owner fails to
control the growth of noxious weeds on their property, the City may, at
its discretion, destroy said noxious weeds and bill the property owner
for the said work. |
