  • To preserve Wisconsin’s and the Grand River Valley’s unique agricultural heritage and the role farmers markets have played in this state’s history.

While the Markesan Farmers Market does focus on produce, breads/pastries, honey and other edibles, a select number of spots are also reserved each week for crafters and other non-food related items. New vendors of all sorts are always welcome to fill out an application. Vendor fees are utilized to help promote the market throughout the area.

For more information, please print out the following forms: Cover LetterRules and RegulationsVendor Application.

After a limited edition run in 2015, looking ahead to 2016, the Markesan Farmers Market will be returning as a weekly, open-air market located at the corner of Margaret and W. John Streets. The market will be held every Saturday morning, from 8am to noon,

starting May 21 and running through September 24.

The goals of the Markesan Farmers Market are four-fold and are as follows:

  • To showcase local and area growers and food artisans, while highlighting the farm-to-fork lifestyle.
  • To welcome people into Markesan in order to promote the city’s rich agricultural traditions.
  • To promote a healthy lifestyle by making available a wide variety of fresh, quality produce and homegrown and locally produced artisan foods and farm products.
