KINGSTON
A small, rural community located in southwest Green Lake County, Kingston
has a population of approximately 346. Kingston is located on State Highway 44.
Kingston boasts many municipal services, including a national award winning
public library, which demonstrates the commitment to growth, education and the
spirit of community service fostered by the citizens of this small and vibrant
village!
The Grand River meanders through Kingston and is dammed there to form Grand
Lake…a favorite year-around fishing spot for local fishermen. Several years ago
the lake was treated by the Wisconsin DNR, who subsequently loaded the lake with
Northern Pike and a variety of panfish. Grand Lake is also a favorite of duck
hunters!
Kingston is also the eastern gateway to the Grand River Marsh State Wildlife
Area, a four-season haven for conservationists, sportsmen and families
interested in hunting, fishing and viewing wildlife…and simply enjoying nature!
Kingston is also located within a large, rural Amish community.
So come…see…hear and Experience Kingston!
MANCHESTER
Manchester is a small hamlet in southern Green Lake County. It
is situated on the juncture of two State Highways - Hwy 73 and Hwy 44.
Manchester has a Senior Citizens Center, an active Sportsman's Club and features
a "Little Britches Rodeo" each summer. Many young folks are active in the rodeo
and ride horses on the town roads, plus this is Amish Country and you may see a
few wagons on the roadways...so please drive carefully.

If Manchester is on your route...it is an excellent choice to stop, eat and
gas-up your vehicle. You are in the heart of Amish Country, where sights
are not always of the everyday nature!
DALTON
Dalton is a hamlet located in the southwestern corner of Green
Lake County. State Highway 44 winds through Dalton, which supports auto, truck
and horse-drawn buggy traffic, alike. Another main thoroughfare thru Dalton is
the Union Pacific Railroad with many freight trains each day. Several businesses
are located in and around Dalton. Dalton features a volunteer fire department
that protects the area. Dalton itself is located in the center of an Amish
community. The Amish community operates businesses in the farming areas
surrounding Dalton.
Dalton has a large and active conservation club, which operates a community park
complete with softball fields, trap shooting, playground equipment and barbeque
& picnic facilities. You will find much activity at the club during the summer
months.
Just to the north is the 7,000 acre Grand River Wildlife Area. Managed as a
waterfowl restoration area, about 3,500 acres are flooded, creating an ideal
habitat for waterfowl. Ideal for naturalists and sportsmen alike, wildlife
abounds…mallards, teal, widgeon, gadwell, geese…and whitetail deer!
Marquette is the third oldest settlement in the State of Wisconsin! It was
established in 1836. Quaint shops offer a variety of merchandise. If you are
hungry, Marquette offers many opportunities for food, whether you are looking
for fish fry, burgers or a steak!
MARQUETTE
Marquette is nestled on the south shore of Lake Puckaway, which
is a valuable recreational resource for the community. Residents and visitors
alike enjoy the lake in all four seasons for boating and fishing. Puckaway is
approximately eight miles long and two miles wide. Covering 5,400 acres, it is
the seventh largest lake in the state. Puckaway offers bays, islands, weedbeds
and plenty of open water for fishing and boating enjoyment! An excellent spot
for a sporting vacation! Lodges, bait shops and guide services are available.
The yellow perch, bluegills, walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass and hybrid
muskies are just waiting for your bait to hit the water!
